Hitbox

Hitbox is a two-player cat fighting game with simple controls where the landing of a single hit determines the round. All cats in Hitbox have the same movement and fighting attacks.

There are only 2 directional inputs (left and right) for movement and 2 buttons to attack. There’s no jumping nor special moves in this game. The importance of this game is for players that want to get into fighting games to understand when to attack. This term is called footsies in the FGC (Fighting Game Community).

Even though there are only 2 buttons to attack, there are four attack moves in the game. Depending on how long a player presses an attack button, they will do either a short attack or a long-range attack.
